How do I test that com port is working for a scale?

Step1: Download Microridge
- Download and install MicroRidge ComTestSerial port program
- Download the latest version from here: https://www.microridge.com/comtestserial.htm
- The installer Install_ComTestSerial...is alos located here: G:\Shared drives\[P] IT PRODUCTION\EzSoftware Install File Structure\OtherSupportFiles\CtKEmulator
- Identify the port the scale is plugged into.
- Check EZ Retail Version:
- Before 1.55.32 Proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Legacy Testing
- Start the MicroRidge ComTestSerial program
- Click the Serial port button on the bottom right. then configure the comport settings.
- Baud Rate will be 9600
- Stop Bits will be 1
- Parity, Data Bits will be dependent on the scale.

- After the come settings are selected configure the testing commands
- Click the "To Local Commands" Button
- In the character set list, find W and double click it. The "W" will be added to the Local Command Window. Do the same for the CR character. When done the command should look like this "W\x0d"
- Click the send button for the Local Command. A green W will disable in the output window. If the comport and scale are working, and settings are correct, it will be followed by yellow out text from the scale.
