This article will go over how to use sale management within the Legacy EZ Dine Software.

Typical symptoms brought up by customers.
- Happy Hour Menus
- One-time-only sales
- Specials for a certain day of the week

Using Sale Management

  • Navigate Admin > Sale Management
  • Choose the correct option
    • New sale: Add New...
    • Existing Sale: Click on the sale name
  • Enter the following
    • Sale Name
    • Discount type
      • Flat Amount
      • Percentage
    • Amount of the discount
    • Start
      • Day of week
      • Time
    • End
      • Day of week
      • Time
  • Save
  • If Sale is live and needs to be applied right away, Proceed to Adding or Removing a sale.

Adding or Removing a sale


Only Certain items in a particular category.

  1. Navigate Admin > Menu Item > Category of the item > Sub Category of the item
  2. Click on the item.
  3. Click on the tab Ref/Combo
  4. Click on Link to Sale
  5. Click on the Sale name.
    • Highlighted = Enabled. 
  6. Click Save
  7. Exit back to the Login Screen

Linking a sale to an entire sub-category


  1. Navigate Admin > Menu Sub-Categories
  2. Choose the Category that the sub-category exists within.
  3. Click Link to Sale 
  4. Click on the Sale name.
    • Highlighted = Enabled. 
  5. Click Save
  6. Exit back to the Login Screen

Common issues and how to address them.


"Multiple" Day Discounts


Sale management is very literal with how the clock works.  If a customer is requesting for a sale to happen every day between these hours, then it will require multiple sales and not a single one


Example: The customer is wishing for a sale every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.


Wrong way


  • Setting up a single sale for start Tuesday 2:00pm and ends Thursdays 6:00pm.  


This will lead to an issue where the the customer will state the sale did not end at 6:00pm  as this will be treated in ezdine as this sale will be from Tuesday 2:00pm and will be available until Thursday at 6:00pm.


Correct way


Set up 3 sales

  • Tuesday 2:00pm to Tuesday 6:00pm
  • Wednesday 2:00pm to Wednesday 6:00pm
  • Thursday 2:00pm to Thursday 6:00pm


My sale is still going on, but there are multiple discounts.


This is generally due to a typo with the hours entered.


Example: My happy hour should have ended at 6:00pm. You log in and go to sale management and there are multiple sales for every day.


In this scenario it is best to look at the times.  Many times a typo is made as the sale management screen is set up with AM as a default.  Many times you will see a sale showing Tuesday 2:00pm to Tuesday 6:00am. This will be treated as this sale will be from Tuesday 2:00pm until next Tuesday at 6:00am.
